Frequently Asked Questions

The Logistics:

How long are sessions?
Sessions are usually 50 minutes, giving us space to settle in, do the work, and close gently. Extended sessions may be available with prior discussion, if needed.

Do you offer virtual therapy?
Yes! I offer secure and HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions for clients anywhere in Florida and New Jersey. Virtual therapy allows you to receive support from the comfort and safety of your own space, and provides more flexibility.

What is your rate?
My fee is $185 per 50-minute session. Payments are processed securely at the time of service via secure electronic payment.

Do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly. I’ve chosen not to accept insurance so I can provide care that’s more personalized, flexible, and unrestricted by insurance limitations. This allows for deeper, more present sessions and greater privacy. However, I can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) that you may submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement, depending on your plan.

Do you offer sliding scale options?
Yes. I hold a few sliding scale spots for those navigating financial hardship. Please ask during our consultation if this might support your journey.

What is your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows are charged a reduced session fee of $100, except in the case of emergencies or illness.

How do I get started?
I invite you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. This is a chance for us to connect, explore your needs, and feel into whether this is the right space for your healing.

The Work: How I Support Healing

What kinds of therapy do you use?
I use a combination of evidence-based and holistic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Prolonged Exposure therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy. Each path is adapted to each individual need.

Do you offer trauma therapy or work with PTSD?
Yes. I specialize in trauma-informed therapy, including Prolonged Exposure and TF-CBT. These approaches help you reconnect with your body, process traumatic memories and experiences safely, reduce avoidance, and feel more grounded in the present.

What is CBT and how can it help?
CBT helps us become more aware of the thoughts, emotions, and habits that shape our inner world. Through this work, we gently begin to untangle the patterns that no longer serve you and build new ways of thinking and being that feel more aligned with your values and goals.

What is ERP?
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is the gold-standard treatment for OCD and anxiety. With ERP, we slowly, gradually, and safely face fears together, while learning that you don’t have to respond with avoidance or compulsions. You build courage, confidence, and a deep trust in your own nervous system.

What is TF-CBT?
Trauma-Focused CBT is designed for children and teens healing from trauma. It blends structure and creativity to help them process what’s happened in a developmentally safe way. I often include caregivers in this journey to support deeper healing and connection.

What does mindfulness look like in therapy?
Mindfulness helps you reconnect with your breath, your body, and your inner wisdom. Through grounding exercises, present-moment awareness, and gentle self-compassion practices, we use mindfulness to create space, soothe the nervous system, and bring it back to the 'now'.

Can you blend different approaches?
Absolutely. I often do so. Therapy with me is intuitive and collaborative. We’ll draw from what works: CBT for structure, mindfulness for grounding, ERP for anxiety work, trauma models for deeper healing, and other approaches. We will always honor the different parts of you that are needing attention and care.
